90% of black women are evil says Shelly Williams.
Webster’s Dictionary defines “evil” as follows:
1 a : morally reprehensible : sinful, wicked b : arising from actual or imputed bad character or conduct ; person of evil reputation
Your Dictionary.com defines it as:
- morally bad or wrong; wicked; depraved
- causing pain or trouble; harmful; injurious
- threatening or bringing misfortune; unlucky; disastrous;
- angry, irritable, disagreeable, etc. in an evil mood
resulting from or based on conduct regarded as immoral an evil reputation
offensive or disgusting
It’s a harsh word. It’s a loaded word.
Are black women: morally bad? wicked? depraved?
Those words conjure up visions of witches brewing fiendish concoctions to destroy others. They paint a picture of someone without a moral compass, who plots and schemes to bring harm on others. In my mind, I see someone who feeds her husband rat poison, locks her children in the basement, hungry, dirty. I see someone who would steal from the blind, murder their parents for money, and feed the chopped up bodies of their murderous sprees to those children in the basement.
Uh…I don’t know of, nor have I heard of any black woman like that. But that’s just me living in my sheltered world. However, how loaded is it to say black women are evil? Is that all black women? Some black women? A half dozen? And who’s saying this? Who’s listening to and believing this?
Now see, if I knew of someone like that, I’d be more inclined to call it a form of mental illness – extreme mental illness possessed of a sociopath. But let’s see…a sociopath lacks the ability to interact socially because of their moral depravity. Do black women have an inability to interact socially? Are black women morally depraved?
Thinking questions. If one is inclined to use the word ‘evil’ to describe other human beings, they best have their statistics to back it up. It’s irresponsible to do otherwise. Prove the wickedness. Don’t just spout off about some bad experience you had with a handful of people. Don’t just wallow in your self-hatred and thereby come to the conclusion that you are in your pitiful condition because of the evil of black women. Do we murder more than any other group? Do we enslave others to a greater extent? Do we abuse the helpless and dependent? The majority of church members in black churches are women. Are they in the pews spewing hatred? The majority of black children are born to black women, who if they are evil, must be, by mere association, raising evil children, which would include black males. Are black males evil or are they genetically incapable of inheriting the evil genes of their mothers?
If the black woman is evil, how did she get that way? Was she born that way or did she grow into it? Imagine hearing that you are evil, therefore undesirable, on a fairly regular basis. If you capitulate to the condemnation, you’ll either be overly defensive, filled with self-loathing, or teeming with anger. If you strive to live against expectations, you risk being misjudged.
Where’s the middle ground? What if you’re just a woman, who wants to get along with those who want to get along, who voices her opinion, even if its unpopular, who avoids leeches and ne’re do wells, who stands up for herself when others try to knock her down? What if you’re just a woman who works hard, plays hard, loves harder, holds onto her kids like a lioness, who asks for her man to BE THERE in mind, body, and spirit to provide for her and their children? What if you have to do everything for yourself?
In some circles of society, it seems cool to label black women as evil, and therefore undesirable. But hold on…Methinks it’s a handy excuse for the ones who exploit stereotypes to use as a smokescreen for their own deep rooted insecurities. Sisters, don’t buy into the toxicity. Fight off the evil that’s directed at you.
Black women aren’t evil. Pissed off, a little tired, but not evil.
It’s a harsh word.
“hmmpf…can we talk about the skank in that video?”
